Desi events - I get you and I got you

So lets face it, your parents and future in-laws have already taken over the invite list and you are overwhelmed and frustrated as you feel that the wedding and events in-between are out if your hands.

Already the wedding may feel like it is not about you and your partner anymore and it is about the food and guests. But let's take a step back and let's see what we can do so that some of your special day is about you.

For each event you have, from the Mehendi/Sangheet night to the reception, I recommend to dedicate some time for yourselves for some couple/individual photos.

This won’t just be a time for you to catch your breath, but for a time for you and your partner to have a moment to yourselves before you have to get back to the somewhat overwhelming crowd. If you can manage to have your photos taken outside, I can't recommend this enough. Nothing beats natural light, especially during golden hour. If you are confused about how much time you need to allocate for photos and when to take them, fear not, that is what I am here for.

With outfits from a south asian culture, we want all that detail captured! I know how much effort outfits, jewellery, henna and everything in between takes - and not just for one event, for multiple events.

Do yourself a favour. Be a bit selfish and get some photos of yourself taken. You only regret the photos you don't take.
